Safari
Accommodation Options
Arusha
Situated
in the fertile southern foothills of Mount Meru lies the bustling town of
Arusha. Known as the “safari capital” of Tanzania, Arusha is the most
popular and convenient place from which to explore the legendary northern
game viewing parks and conservation areas as well as the world famous
Mount Kilimanjaro. For our guests arriving after long international
flights, we recommend an overnight in Arusha prior to heading off on
safari. Accommodation options in Arusha range from rustic hostels to
luxurious plantation lodges.
Lake
Manyara
The
Great Rift Valley supports a chain of shallow mineral-rich lakes. The most
accessible and popular of these is Lake Manyara. The area is supported by
a number of lodges and camps, most of which run along the escarpment above
the lake, allowing for lovely views across the floor of the Rift
Valley.
Tarangire
As
with the other parks/reserves along the northern safari circuit, Tarangire
is serviced by a range of lodges and camps to suit most tastes. There are
a number of places to stay inside Tarangire National Park as well as many
choices outside the park, varying from simplistic to luxurious.
Ngorongoro
Crater
Ngorongoro
is a fascinating and unusual conservation area which includes the
phenomena of the Ngorongoro Crater at its centre. There are four lodges
perched on the crater rim, all offering superb views to the crater floor.
Less expensive options are further away from the rim of the crater, and
offer beautiful scenery in their own right. Accommodations range from
basic to exclusive - something for everyone.
Serengeti
Scattered
throughout Serengeti National Park is a range of lodge and tented camp
accommodation, each offering a unique experience to suit all tastes from
intimate to adventurous. Warrior Trails can recommend accommodations based
on their location to the best seasonal wildlife viewing sites in this vast
ecosystem.
Kilimanjaro
The
western side of the highest freestanding mountain in the world provides
exhilarating views and wild terrain. This is one of the most dramatically
beautiful settings in East Africa with some excellent permanent and
seasonal tented camp options offering stunning views of Kilimanjaro.
